You’ll need to enter your email address in the first two fields and your password in the last two.

By clicking on the ‘Sign Up’ button, you’re agreeing to Wix’s Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and to receive communications from the company in the form of emails, newsletters, and updates.

You’re also given the option to sign up with Facebook or Google+. Once you’ve completed the sign-up process, you’ll receive a confirmation email from the website.

You’ll then be given the option to sign in and start building your website.

How to Get Started with Squarespace

Getting started with Squarespace is easy. You receive a free trial with no credit card required.

You then have the option to start with a chosen template or preview it. In order to register for the site, you must select the template.

That isn’t the case with Wix which gives you the option to sign up for an account first and choose a template later.

Once the template has been chosen on Squarespace’s account, you’ll need to provide your first name and last name, email address, and password for your account.

You’ll also need to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy by clicking the radio button.

Once you’ve looked at your information and seen that there were no mistakes, you can click the button that reads, ‘Sign Up & Create Site’.

You’ll then receive an email confirmation that you have an account.

You’ll be able to log in and start personalizing your website to fit your chosen theme and nature of your personal or professional project.

How do they compare to getting started?

Both offer a very simple solution to getting started.

Their key is always to make it simple for converting someone to a new customer.

I’d say a pretty even tie to get started.

This is typical though with any website builder.

So, I’d say most of the top website builders hold your hand right here.

Ease of Use for Wix and Squarespace

Both Wix and Squarespace are incredibly easy to use. They’re able to be customized based on your wants and needs.

You can take the ‘bones’ of a template and work to make it your own by changing different elements of it such as fonts, images, photographs, and pages.

When it comes to selecting which is right for you, you have to consider what elements of design are most important.

For example, if your site is very image-heavy, you’ll want to go with the company and membership plan that supports the bandwidth and storage that you need to showcase your photography or sell your products.

You’ll also want to be able to add widgets and apps to further enhance your website.

Wix offers a robust toolbox filled with options to add apps, email addresses, and SEO to your site. You’re able to access the tools through your dashboard.

You don’t waste time looking for the things you need because they’re conveniently located in one place.

Once you’ve gone through the registration process on either site, you’re able to start using Wix or Squarespace’s customization tools.

This helps the things that you envisioned come to life as you experiment with font styles, colors, and sizes, graphics, photographs, and blogging.

My Thoughts On The Ease Of Use for each one

Both of these are easy.

Both are for a majority drag and drop.

I’d say you have a few more limitations to Squarespace just because you have to drag and drop to certain block areas.

They might do this, of course, to keep it clean and elegant.

Wix, is just a blank canvas.

If you want it in one spot put it there.

Plus and minus to that too right?

Sometimes a little direction is super helpful

And

Wix by far just has more options with Templates, and just felt easier to me selecting one.

Not saying you can’t do some great things with Squarespace

But, some more options would be awesome

So, how do their templates stack up?

Wix has a ton more to pick from which I find nice for the individual that just wants one ready to go.

Squarespace is more about focusing on a smaller portion with quality.

Now, that doesn’t downgrade Squarespace at all.

In fact, I’d say they put together solid ones too.

Overall though, looking at it from a simple standpoint Wix to me just gives you more of your imagination at work.

When you scroll through I feel they cover a ton of what you might even be thinking.

The one minus on Wix in this area is once you pick your template you have to keep it and can’t change it.

I’m not certain why you can’t but at this time you can’t.

I hope it’s something they work on overtime.

Winner For Templates: Wix wins this battle and just offers more in the template design and choice.

Wix Vs Squarespace for eCommerce

Wix and Squarespace offer eCommerce solutions for their users. They are similar in cost but Wix offers far more in terms of features.

Having access to unlimited bandwidth and unlimited product listings is what makes many men and women choose Squarespace over Wix if they are going to.

Wix, however, does not charge a transaction fee with its eCommerce option.

I’m gonna keep it simple here, but you can see more comparisons of these two if you head over here when it comes to eCommerce.

My thoughts:

I’m not certain you’re going to make a bad decision choosing either.

I see some plus and minuses on both.

Overall, test them out and see what you think.

I like Squarespace for a business website and basic website though too.
